Welcome to Breast Cancer Network NZ

First and foremost BCN is a volunteer group welcoming all New Zealanders who are affected by breast cancer and supporters.  It's our goal, using our website, magazine, projects and resources, to provide information about many aspects of breast cancer, to ask some hard questions and to put people 'in touch'. With our links to other groups and information sources, we can help you find the services you need if you or someone close to you is diagnosed with breast cancer.

We offer a voice for those affected by breast cancer in our bi-monthly magazine Upfront U Kaiora, so that women can share personal views and concerns. And you can contribute letters, ideas, reviews and stories.  Editor/Writer Sue Claridge provides informative articles, keenly read by BCN members, breast cancer groups and health professionals.

Other than a part-time administrator and magazine editor, the group is managed by volunteers, most of whom are breast cancer survivors – women helping women on a voluntary basis. (But men can join up too!)

Our mission includes working towards prevention of breast cancer - risk reduction is an important focus for BCN. Members can get involved in all activities – please contact us if you want to help, we do need you.

Breast Cancer Network (NZ) Inc is an incorporated society and registered charity, and is GST registered.

We have a long-term Stop Cancer Where it Starts project, which aims to reduce the risk of breast cancer - to inform and empower women to make lifestyle changes that affect risk, and to reduce New Zealanders’ exposure to toxic and hormone-disrupting chemicals in the environment. See Stop Cancer

Other projects are focused on recommendations from the BCN 1st National Breast Cancer Conference.  See Projects
